Why I Built Mnemo

I'm Owen, a CS student who kept running into the same reading problem: finishing a chapter I cared about, opening a notes app, and freezing.

The blank page problem

I tried Kindle highlights. I tried Notion templates. I still lost the most important part of reading: the interpretation that appears right after a session and disappears if you do not engage it quickly.

A different interface belief

Initiating from nothing is hard. Responding to a good question is easier. Mnemo is built around that: you log what stayed with you, then the app asks a Socratic question grounded in your note and your history with the book.

What Mnemo does today

After each reading session, you answer one high-quality question. Over time, your answers become a connected thought map so you can see how ideas evolve across chapters and books.

What we care about

No feed. No streak pressure. No noisy AI chat. The product should feel like a quiet reading desk: one prompt, one honest response, and better thinking over time.
